How To Relax When Stressed? I got you.

Most people are so caught up in the fast lane that they don’t take a moment to breathe. Studies have shown that stress is the #1 cause of death. Stress is related too many health issues such as, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and much more. So how do we take a moment to release stress when needed? Here are some tips I’ve learned that helped me deal with my anxiety and depression which created stress.

BATHS. This one is crazy effective. I usually put Himalayan salts, bath salts, a bath bomb, essential oils, dried herbs (lavender, camomile, roses pedals) & candles on vanity of bathroom. I like to think of this one as my spiritual cleanse for the day. Lasting only about 20 minutes; afterwards, my muscles are relaxed, my mind flows easier and overall have a more positive outlook on life.

EXERCISE. Personally, my stress comes from overthinking about situations that have not even occurred or thinking about something I can’t change. In other words, too much chaos in the mind . The best way for this stress to be released is by moving your body. This creates a different chemical balance in your brain and allows you to think more on what you’re doing instead of what’s happening in the mind. Walking, running, lifting weights, yoga, anything goes.

SELF CARE. We come first. If you don’t put yourself first, no one will for you. To feel good is too nourish our bodies, and this comes in the form of taking care of ourselves. Try giving yourself a spa day/night once a week.

DE-CLUTTERING. Our environment has a HUGE impact on our day-to-day lives. This creates physical distrubence within our realities. Clean surroundings=peace of mind.

Take yourself on a date! Get dressed up and go to that coffee shop you’ve always wanted to try. Take yourself on that wine tour you’ve been dying to go on. Treat yourself to a solid meal at your favourite restaurant! No one will make you happier than yourself.
